Building a Legacy

of Community & Prosperity

On May 22, 2023, Chugach Naswik was officially launched with a groundbreaking ceremony led by The Tatitlek Corporation, Chenega Corporation, and Chugach Alaska Corporation. This multi-purpose facility in Valdez symbolizes our commitment to the region and is a cornerstone of Chugach’s 100-year vision for Intergenerational Prosperity.

Named after the Sugt’stun word for ‘look out,’ Naswik provides premium short-term accommodations, workforce housing, and a community gathering space.

It represents a blend of affordable housing solutions and development opportunities, designed to support the local community and enhance employment prospects for Alaska Native shareholders. The project reflects our dedication to Valdez and our broader mission to contribute positively to the region’s growth and vitality.
